Depths of Chelsea Ritchie

Raised by Caribbean (Guyanese) parents in the outer reaches of Los Angeles, California, I have always juggled a wide range of talents and interests.  At American University, I earned my Bachelors Degree in International Studies with a minor in Chemistry, while also cheerleading.  After completing my undergraduate degree, I went on to cheer professionally and to also earn a Masters Degree in Strategic Public Relations from George Washington University.  I entered the corporate world upon completion of my cheerleading career and, although I had a strong passion for my work in policy analysis, I also yearned for another creative outlet.  At that point, I began modeling, working with brands, and building a personal social media profile to echo my passions for modeling and travel.

Today, I'm happy to say I've created a lifestyle that satisfies the varied aspects of my personality.  As a digital and political strategist, I develop digital strategy for trade associations.  I'm well known in Washington for my ability to align c-suite priorities with government and public affairs efforts and then effectively portray the message online.  As a social media influencer, I share tips on travel, fitness, fashion, and entrepreneurship for women who want to "level up" and expand their lives outside of the 9 to 5 job.

Currently splitting time between Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, I continue to be involved in service organizations like Together We Bake, an empowerment-based job training program for women in need of a second chance.  My gymnastic talents and community volunteer work have been featured on various television programs like Good Morning America, ESPN, and CBS Sports, and I'm an extremely proud to be honored with the 30 Under 30 Emerging Leader Award in 2017 for my work in the Caribbean community.

Now, I'm working to help other young, ambitious women avoid the pitfalls of trying to fit yourself in a box.  People are complicated.  We have many talents.  Never sell yourself short on what you achieve.
